FileList is an indispensable tool. Years ago I wrote a similar program, but when I discovered FileList I abandoned my own, because Filelist was simply much better and more comprehensive. With FileList I can quickly get a list of files -- even all files on a system -- and sort them by size and (depending on what kind of duplication I'm checking) by name, or by path parallelism. My software pulls sets of possible duplicates from the resulting list to check only those.
FileList helps tremendously with this: having all the crucial information in one place, parsed and organized, is highly valuable and saves enormous effort. With FileList to gather exactly and only the filesystem metadata of interest, my tools work better and provide more readable results than any commercial tool I know.
FileList is a handy software application when it comes to creating file lists in a CSV format. Tasks are going to be completed in a timely manner, the computer’s performance is not going to be hindered and we did not come across any hangs or crashes in our tests.
